Our Story
Based in Ocean City, MD, The Chest Pains began in 1983 as a small group of passionate musicians dedicated to bringing live alternative / pop-punk / new wave music to the Eastern Shore beaches. Over the years, we've grown into a vibrant band that loves to connect with our audience through unforgettable performances.

The Chest Pains released a 4-song EP in 1986 and have opened for acts like The Ramones, Love Tractor, and Ravens. They’ve played venues across Ocean City, Philadelphia, Towson, and Atlantic City. In 2011, the band was named Coconut Times Entertainers of the Year.

Tim has performed live music off and on since he was 13. His career has taken him around the world producing music for TV, video games, and feature films including The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Tim grew up playing music on the Eastern Shore and now Tim and Dean are performing together again as they did in '86-'88.

The Doctor of Drums, the Practitioner of Percussion, Dean has performed for decades in bands of nearly every genre, including the Black Tie band, Images, and Jazz and Latin bands. For 28 years he was an award winning drum & percussion composer, arranger, instructor, clinician, and adjudicator. For the most recent 8 years he's been drumming with The Chest Pains.
